DDM2010 MSc(OMFS2015) MSc (Dental implantology 2023)
My name is Nikola Petrov but all my patients and colleges call me Nick.
I graduated at the Medical University of Sofia in 2010 with a degree of Doctor in Dental Medicine(DDM). Shortly after I registered with the GDC and in 2011 I began my journey as general dentist. Over the next few years I discovered that my heart lies in the surgical aspect of dentistry. I successfully graduated my first masters degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with the University of Manchester in 2015. To further my surgical skills I took DCT jobs in three hospitals Derby Royal Hospital, Sheffield Hallamshire Hospital and Royal Stoke University hospital. completing DCT1 to DCT3.
Those were challenging jobs as all three hospitals are major head and neck centre alongside being trauma centres.
Working in different settings such as A&E, theatres, clinics and seeing a vast amount of cases gave me the confidence to treat my patients to a high standard. While I was going through my hospital jobs I trained with the Society for the advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD).
In 2021 I was registered as a Tier2 provider for IMOS contracts in the East Midlands.
To improve my skills in dental I started my second master degree. In 2023 I graduated the course in dental implantology with the University of Lincolnshire – UCLAN. Since then I have completed advance level courses regarding challenging cases including sinus lift surgery.
